doublespeak

the term comes from the George Orwell book 1984, by the way.
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength

Spybot - Search & Destroy

An excellent program which removes Spyware, Adware, daillers and many other malacious programs and files on your computer. It can also fix registry problems and remove usage tracks from your registry. It is a free download as are the update files (same with Ad-Aware, another great program).
I use both Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search & Destroy on my computer to remove spyware and other bad programs.

gray market

Halfway between the white market (completely legal) and black market (completely illegal). The gray market sells products which are legal to own, but can be used illegaly or are illegal to use completely.
In Virginia, police radar detectors are gray market items because it is legal to own one, but illegal to actully use it.

Switchfoot

good Christian rock band, probably one of my favorites.

transmitter testing

When I'm bored, I go "transmitter testing". This generally refers to me picking a random VHF frequnecy and transmitting music over it. Because I have a Vertex VX-150 as well as a 35-watt VHF amplifier attached to it the range is about 20 or miles, depending on if I am transmitting at full power or fractional power levels. I like to chose frequencies that are not being used, generally its a business radio service frequency or Marine VHF channel. I have however, transmitted over weatheradio (162.400 to 162.550 MHz) channels are that really pisses people off.

This is all, of course, illegal.
Guy who lives next to me: "How come all I hear on my weatheradio is Jimi Hendrix and Men At Work?"

Me: "I'm just transmitter testing"
