The first human arguably started with Homo Erectus, some dude with an ape like head but used fire, tools, and language, then evolution marched on to have groups like Neanderthals and eventually Homo Sapiens Sapiens (us).
The evolution of the music industry is interesting.

hand axe

A prehistoric tool that is the equivalent of an axe head yet was held in the hand. Made of stone, it was chipped around the edges to make it sharp. Most cavemen fossils are accompanied by these.

It wouldn't surprise me if stone age jungle dwellers still use a hand axe.
