A Russian whip. Different kinds exist such as a bunch of plaited hide interwoven with metal wire, another kind is a long lash with a ring or hook that's joined by another lash with a hook/ring and ends in a hard leather beak.
100-120 lashes would be lethal.

Peter the Great is claimed to have used the knout on his son Alexis.

A mean woman on the movie Matilda who harrased kids potentially killing them with little remorse until the end of the movie. Had a softer side in the scene where she thought a ghost of her deceased nephew has attacking her.

The Trunchbull threw a girl by her pigtails.

old earth creationism

Old earth creationism is a branch of creationism that holds to much of the secular dates assigned to the earth. Many hold to the day age idea that the creation days (Hebrew yom) could be eons or so of time. They reject macroevolution, particularly darwinian, and state that all creatures, including tiktallik, were either created by God or microevolved .

He adheres to old earth creationism.
