Anything that causes enjoyment. Requires an audience, or there is no one to enjoy it. That which is enjoyable varies from audience to audience, so the precise definition of entertainment is a variable dependent upon the audience.
There is no entertainment on the planet Venus because there is no one to enjoy what ever is happening there.

If it wasn't for some very strange people, most of what is on television would not be entertainement.
