Definitions by dAVE

A type of weapon that is capable of discharging projectiles at unbelievably high velocities. In this day and age, a railgun is capable of firing a projectile with such velocity because it can use electromagnetism.

Railguns are the future of how nuclear weapons can be launched. Nuclear missiles usually undergo 4 phases, some of which have problems....but with a railgun, there are less required phases, and it's apparently inexpensive! And that's not even the scariest thing.....you know how nuclear missiles are shot down? It's because nuclear missiles burn propellant, and interception technology can pinpoint it, and shoot down the incoming nuke with ease....however, with a railgun, the missile doesn't have to burn any propellant, and therefore it is INVISIBLE!!
Thus, railguns are capable of launching nuclear missiles that can be considered "invisible nuclear missiles"....the thought of that is VERY frightening. And yet, strategic and effective.
"The railgun technology was popularized not just by Quake, but particularly by Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear Rex, in MGS, has a right arm that is a massive railgun."

People's Liberation Army

The name of the armed forces of the People's Republic of China.

The PLA is composed of three branches:

*PLA (People's Liberation Army)
The Army is the very basis of the military, composed of "grunts" trained to become infantry for usual land warfare. Like any other nation's military, it has artillery (like tanks and other armor), special forces, engineers, and basic infantry.

*PLAN (People's Liberation Army Navy)
The PLAN is like any other navy, since it has ship all kinds (like warships, carriers, and submarines). The PLAN also has a Marine Corps, although it's not as advanced, or powerful, as the USMC.

*PLAAF (People's Liberation Army Air Force)
The PLAAF is like any other nation's airforce in that it has aircraft of all kinds. China has been experimenting with UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).

The PLA is owned by the PRCCMC (People's Republic of China Central Military Commission), which is run by a chairman, often a general.

The PLA also specializes in fields involving C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence), outer space and, of course, nuclear arsenal.

In China, people are required to join the military upon graduation from school. In otherwords, unlike other sources saying so, the setup is not a draft, but seemingly, conscription.
"The PLA is interesting in that their main assault rifles, the T95's, are chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO....that's the US & allied caliber for assault rifles....are we looking at an alliance with China one day?.....probably not. -_- such a shame. China, with its interesting culture and rich history....fascinated with world domination like eons ago....but what do I know; I'm an American. Being American is a good thing, but it has its downs too. -_- "

Avtomat Kalashnikov 1947

Invented by Mikhail Kalashnikov. Quite possibly the most popular assault rifle in existence, mostly because of mass proliferation.

7.62x39mm Soviet, 30-round clip. Has countless variants. Today it is black-marketted by terrorist cells (mostly because the AK is easy to make).
The AK-47 has been reported to have certain performances that surpass that of the Colt M16 series, and one reason is because the AK doesn't contain as many moving parts (therefore, maintenance is very easy). The AK-47 can also brave any type of harsh condition and environment.

There are ALL kinds of variants to the AK-47:
*AK-74 (5.45x39mm Soviet assault rifle)
*AKS-74u (5.45x39mm Soviet carbine)
*Saiga 12 (12g auto shotgun)
*Dragunov SVD (7.62x39mm Soviet sniper/infantry-backup rifle)
These 4 are just some.
"The AK-47 is cool. ^_^ I want one!"

US government

The government of the United States of America.

The US government is "owned" by the civilian population of the United States, and they have the right to voice their opinions without consequences from the government.
There are three branches of the US government, from lowest to highest in power:
Local Government (run by a mayor)
State Government (run by a governor)
Federal Government (run by a president)
All three of these levels of government work together (sometimes; it depends) for certain purposes, such as involving taxes and how taxes can be used for various services. For example, the local and state governments work together, often, to create local services, like schools, police departments, and hospitals. The federal government, on the other hand, is rife with countless services and agencies, with enough power to serve the entire nation and other nations.

When one thinks of the US government, they usually think of the federal government, which is, as mentioned, the highest level of government.

The US government has been bashed time and time again concerning its true purpose. The US government does have certain secrets, but the US government is better than any other government if you stop and think about it. The US government is run by bureaucrats, not thugs (all kinds of nations think our government is evil and gone mad).

Although it is entirely your opinion, hear mine : THE US GOVERNMENT IS NOT EVIL.
"The US government is not evil like everyone says. Compared to other governments, we are just a bunch of mindless bureaucrats, not oppressive nazis or fascists or imperialists. Government agents, although a few may have agendas, are merely doing there jobs (hence the word "bureaucrat). Like one guy described the definition of government, the government just wants to be your friend....lol silly-sounding I guess. But it's said to be a well-known fact that you should NOT trust the government. Now after hearing that, I am confused."
