swing a dead cat

Silly way of relating the quantity or frequency of something in terms of whether you would hit one if you swung a dead cat.

You can't swing a dead cat in that school without hitting some guy with his underwear showing.

board

In Texas Hold 'Em Poker, the community cards dealt face up on the table.

"With two aces on board, there was no way I could call his all-in with just my pocket deuces."

"When my third six hit the board, I knew I had him."

bottom pair

In Texas Hold 'Em Poker, the lowest pair of cards. Usually only relevant when nobody else has made a hand, but the lowest card on the board makes one pair for you.

"Bottom pair."
"All I got is ace high -- you win."

hug

(v) To make a candle melt evenly by pushing the warm outer wax toward the center with your thumb or palm.

Multiple-wick candles will last much longer if you let them burn long enough for the whole top to melt and then hug them every time you blow them out.
