The business of thieving, or anything else illegal or shady in nature. A "cross-trading scum" is a thief who's got on the wrong side of the court system.

When a body takes a chance, she is said to have diced. You can also take a dice.

Dead. This comes from either being in a coffin, or the obvious alternative.

"He's in boxes and pieces, in a coffin now, not in good shape at all..."

An indiscriminate eater. Implies that the eater is a glutton and would eat or consume anything placed in front of them.

"That gannet will eat sushi from the garbage bin behind a gas station..."

-To make a grotesque face; grimace.
-To make a ridiculous or unpleasant facial expression.
Scots dialect, variant of “grin” from Middle English “grine” from Old English “gryn”
