Someone that picks on people they thought were uglier inside is no different than someone that picks on people they thought were weaker (physically, mentally, spiritually, or any other measure someone can think of).
The true bully saw the guy calling the girl fat as an easy target because he saw the guy as more of a bully (weaker) than himself, and was quick to take advantage of the situation (since any guy calling a female fat must be a sick, heartless, and pathetic coward).

Startling.
Since guys like Roger from Training day (the ones that have a gun hidden in the newspaper they're reading) are rare instead of common, I'd watch the noisy one trying to be scary before I'd watch the quiet ones reading a book, newspaper, or magazine, since the noisy one is the one that will creep up from behind and shoot, split the back of your skull with a hammer, cut you in half with a machete, or run you over and keep going, all while claiming it was in self defense or on accident.

Hopefully they don't result in what the neighborhood cameras in Georgia resulted in with Ahmaud Arbery, because his face being on a camera image doesn't make him guilty of anything.
Those doorbell cameras are as questionable as anything else as to whether they actually have any use besides spying on people. Doorbell cameras aren't the ones over somebody's driveway pointed at an area off the street, they are pointed out into the street.

A good enough response to the sixth or seventh time somebody has asked you if you know what they are saying, as smart ass as it might seem.
After about the sixth or seventh time somebody has asked you if you know what they are saying, it's not a bad idea to ask them you know what you're saying? before they turn you both into one of those guys, especially if that isn't you.

What most people in the world do. They smile at people/neighbors/coworkers they hate, they pretend to be joking or kidding with people they want dead, and they pretend to fight allies to try and convince their enemies that they are on opposite sides (for show). Most people would rather come to someone indirectly with a smile before they kill them than directly with their true intentions toward the other person, with no pretense or guile.
He/she knew how to pretend, which anybody could do really, but he/she wasn't too good at direct emotional honesty even at his/her most straightforward times.
