Indians should be the most unrestricted people in the country, yet they are the most endangered.
If anybody should be making decisions or controlling the weapons here, it is the Indians. The Indians making decisions for themselves and speaking for themselves as their own voice, rather than a mystery entity like She speaking for them as their voice or giving them hope they might think they need, but really don't need from anyone outside their own people.

Assuming

Assuming is not the same thing as knowing, or being able to rely on something.
Assuming something that has been there, been doing good, or hasn't shown shown signs of failure in the last 12 years or more is guaranteed to be there tomorrow is a dangerous assumption. Never assume the machinations of a few people won't send everybody back to the Stone Age taking everything from today with it tomorrow. It would be everyone's undoing but people like that if everyone else kept assuming no harm would come to them, their people, their home, their business, or anything else ever again without a fight.

mollycoddle

A kid that has their mother come save them from any pipes they might hit their own head on in life.
The mother of the mollycoddle blamed the daycare (for negligence) or other kids over the mollycoddle hitting her head on a pipe, and wanted everything shut down over it. What about the kid paying attention to what she was doing, hitting your head on a pipe was a good way to make the rest of us a bit more alert. It's the same kind of softening of society thing as a mother or father getting locked up over a kid getting in a fight at school. Kids are supposed to fight, kids are supposed to hit their head on shit. It's the difference between living to age 2 and living past age 2 without assistance.

Light rail

Light rail didn't make the neighborhood cool, the neighborhood was cool when it was a blue collar neighborhood, then the light rail gentrified the area.

mercenaries

Those guys that came for John Cusack were not mercenaries, they must have forgot that before they came for him. It might have made the difference between him turning them into idiots on their own show and them actually getting something done, but they underestimated him.
Life isn't about winning for everyone. For some it's about fighting the people that always win at any cost to everyone else, and their game.
Life is only just about winning if you're a machine, and not everybody is.

throwing the game

Turning people's best efforts into bullshit.
The outcome might have been different if not for some folks throwing the game, but nobody will ever know. The bitterness comes from knowing that your best efforts have become bullshit, but not really having a way to connect A to B as to why, instead just blaming it on your team's mistakes or the opposing team's mistakes while the people that threw the game in the first place always run off with the money no matter what. Either way, they win, always.
