An electronic musical instrument that can generate it's own sounds. Not to be confused with sampler.

A MiniMoog is a synthesizer, a Yamaha Motif is a sampler.

An electronic music device that can only play back recordings of sounds using a keyboard or a sequencer. Not to be confused with synthesizer or sampler.

Those cheap Yamaha PSR keyboards you see in Best Buy are only ROMplers.

Cost per thousand. M=1000 in Roman numerals. Generally used to quote advertising prices on the internet on how many ad impressions you can buy for a certain amount of money.
