Wet sand that adheres to a surface and doesn't wipe off. Typically spreads or balls up. Derived from how shit sticks to a blanket; shit sand.

Better not pitch the tent on the sand, the bottom will end up shandy.
Oh no, I sat in shand, I'll never get this off my skirt.
This shand sticks worse than shit on a blanket.
