Conceding

There's no sense in conceding an election before all the votes are counted, it's the same thing as giving up to the other guy. If the other guy wouldn't relinquish power even if he lost, why would you concede to him? There's not much point in having higher ground to stand on if the other guy is still there telling you where and how to stand.

Conceding an election is pointless, the other guy thinks of it as weakness. The other guy is glad he ran against somebody too dumb and weak (obedient) to get to where they wanted to go, that's how they look at it.

Something some people might think would make or break somebody.

His respect was overrun.

The pen is mightier than the sword

Another way of saying that theres a lot of bullshit in history books to support the agendas of a group in power to make that group look more like a clear victor without any negative qualities, and make another group look like they met their downfall. In reality, questioning what the pen writes is enough to make you wonder if there are any winners at all with something like a war.

The pen is mightier than the sword is what the same people you need swords for in the first place tell you.

Human

The one and only race.

At the end of the day, both groups of you are the human race, the only race there is, and the only race that should ever get called a race, but realistically they're not your people and you're not theirs. That's where the hard part of getting along comes in, especially when you're both right about something (or someone). Or when you're both wrong about something (or someone).

Cats and dogs

A dog will do shit a cat would never do, like beg for food.

The difference between cats and dogs-

Dog- Please fill my bowl, I'm beggin you, don't do this to me!
Dog owner- Shut the fuck up!

Cat- What's up? You got my food yet? Don't make me come back again before that bowl is full. If that bowl isn't full by the time I get back...
Cat owner- All right, all right god dammit, you're not the only one ready to eat you know?
