social carbing 

A person who eats carbs when hanging out with friends or to feel integrated into social situations. Social carbing means eating carbs occasionally and almost always in groups – often while drinking alcohol. Similar to social smoking, only with carbohydrates.

“I only ever eat carbs when I’m out drinking with my friends. I guess you might call it social carbing.”
