A metal show on MTV2. The show is pretty formuliac: Shadows Fall video, Unearth video, 9 minutes of commercials, 8 more minutes of atreyu/avenged sevenfold. 9 more minutes of commercials, shitty videos interrupted by Jamey jatsa (who deserves to die, considering Hatebreed is so shitty), an eighteen visions video, then more commercials, then another unearth video, etc. Sometimes they actually show good videos, but its usually those shitty watered down metalcore bands. I usually get tired before a good video comes on and i change it. Jamey Jasta needs to be kicked the fuck off the show or learn to shut up

Get the headbanger's ballmug. A genre of good music combining metal and hardcore and sometimes the hardcore/punk attitude. In the past months it has become overly popular and was being featured on MTV's "Battle for Ozzfest". Only the watered down and/or shitty metalcore bands have become popular though: NEW Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Unearth, Bleeding through, Avenged Sevenfold (who are possibly the poorest excuse for metalcore ever), and hatebreed. The genre has become very flooded with bands looking to become the next atreyu/KsE. There are still some great metalcore bands out there: Zao, Glass casket, The Agony Scene, Symphony in Peril, Lamb of God (even though they're popular), Martyr AD (some of the most brutal metalcore out there), Preminitions of War, The Red Chord, Dead to Fall, Haste the Day, Summer's End, etc.

Get the metalcoremug. Shitty, piss poor production, metal. Listened to by goths or people that are far too "evil" to be caught listening to death metal. Most hate any bands that are "untr00" (ex:dimmu borgir).

A typical blackmetal bandsname will be something like "abolished" or "dark garden" or "satan's children" or some gay shit always with a logo you can't read for shit with needless distorted letters with an upside down cross hanging from the bottom or one of the letters put over a pentagram.

Get the pig destroyermug. A terribly overrated death metal band. They arent really that good, they just gained death metal some popularity because people had never had never heard a thing like it before and thought it was really really skull crushingly heavy. generic growls also.
if you want some good death metal with sick art and weird lyrics, go listen to cattle decapitation, at least they sound cool.
