Also known as the "baby scratch." A DJ scratch that only involves moving the vinyl back and forth without using a fader or transformer. Usually the first scratch that is learned by a novice.

That DJ sucks, all he knows is the wicky wicky.

Someone who listens to new wave music and wears new wave clothing and hair. They are the natural enemy of a butt rocker.

One of the members of the 1970's disco soul duo: Peaches and Herb.

hydroplane

A type of DJ scratch that uses a hand to vibrate the vinyl by creating fluttering friction which makes the speed of the record jump slower very quickly.

You have to have sticky fingers to perform the hydroplane, otherwise it will just slow the record down.

A term used for PCP.

fader

Short for crossfader. A slider device on a DJ mixing board that moves between the mixer's channels.

That DJ was cutting it up, movin' the fader back and forth.

transform

A DJ scratch which starts with a closed fader and ends with a closed fader with "clicks" in between.

The old school DJ can transform the 'fresh' sample.
