Used to comment that something unfortunate cannot be fixed or helped, and usually also that the speaker does not seem to care that this is the case. Basically a colloquial form of “Tough!” as in “Well, that’s too bad!”
Jake: “Ben, I want seven cupcakes like you have. I hate having only six cupcakes!”
Ben:”Well, Jake, tough beans! You know the rules: seven cupcakes for me and only six cupcakes for you! So live with it!”

Winter garments such as jackets, baseball caps or pompom snow hats worn instead of overcoats, plain skull caps or deerstalker hats. So called because such winter gear is typically worn by gay guys or pansies.
Because gay guys or pansies are denied liability insurance, they may only wear homo winter gear, such as winter jackets, baseball caps or pompom snow hats. Such winter gear does not require liability insurance.
"I'm sorry, Tom, said his dad, "but because your mother and I are fostering a two-year-old, we cannot afford liability insurance for you. So you may only wear homo winter gear, your winter jacket and pompom snowhat or your baseball cap. You may look like a pansy, but that's the way it is." Tom was secretly gay anyway, so wearing homo winter gear really wouldn't hurt him.
