My born-again-Christian roommate is a theocratician. He believes that being gay should be illegal because his religion tells him not to agree with it.

Thermostat Battle

The intense, although very sneaky, altercation where two or more inhabitants of the same living space continually adjust the thermostat to their respective preferred temperatures, without the knowledge of the other person(s).

I set my thermostat to 65 degrees last night, and now it's at 80! My roommate must be declaring a thermostat battle!

Food Trance

The state of being while eating something so good (or long-anticipated) that one loses some or all awareness of what is around him or her. Talking diminishes to a minimum, and this may also be accompanied by a tremor-like shaking in the legs. One experiencing a food trance tends to eat quickly, so as not to lose the pleasing taste of the food being consumed.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. That steak put me in a food trance."
