My goals are beyond your understanding

The sentence coming out from the mouth of 1980's-born parents when they're to enforce screen time limits to their Gen Alpha-born digital native kids, who are just yet to receive any sound explanation about the negative impacts of excessive screen time.
Whenever I try to explain why I need to limit my kid’s screen time, I end up just saying, 'My goals are beyond your understanding', because they just can’t grasp the dangers of too much digital exposure!

generational ban

Refers to the New Zealand generational ban on smoking for anyone born 2008 or after
With the generational ban on smoking in New Zealand, kids born after 2008 will grow up in a smoke-free environment, which could lead to healthier future generations!

extended adolescence

This refers to the prolonged life stage between teenager and adult, that Millennials born 1990 or after has always been experiencing. This life stage is mainly caused by the generational inability for anyone born 1990 or after to become full-grown adult (e.g. due to the inability to afford moving out from parents' house, or due to the inability to afford starting a family), which works pretty much in the similar way to the New Zealand generational ban on smoking for anyone born 2008 or after.
With all the financial pressures on Millennials, extended adolescence has become the norm; it's hard to feel like an adult when you're still living at your parents' house, unable to start your own family, and not done with figuring things out yet!

infantile atheism

Happening regardless of the upbringing in the family where a child is raised, this phenomenon is where an infant or a young child identifies himself as an atheist until the age of 6 years, after which he / she will be old enough to start grasping the concept of religion like his / her parents and older siblings.
It's interesting to see how infantile atheism plays out; my four-year old nephew declared he didn't believe in God, even though his parents took him to church every Sunday!
Standing for the Javanese phrase "Ojo Takon Wae" (meaning "don't ask me all the time"), OTW is the slang term referring someone who is expected to akcually be already on the way to the stipulated destination but just hasn't.
I texted Jake to see if he was coming to the party, and he just replied 'OTW'—but we all know he’s still at home playing video games.

simultaneous YouTube uploads

The feeling of YouTube channels uploading videos at the same time as you've subscribed to at least 500 YouTube channels*, inundating your homepage feed

*compared to that of persons who subscribe to no more than 100 YouTube channels
I swear, every time I log into YouTube, the simultaneous YouTube uploads from my 500+ subscriptions flood my feed, and I can never decide what to watch first!

smartphone ubiquity

The phenomenon where smartphone is the integral part of the daily lives of young people aged 10~24 years even though they're not necessarily fully educated on using smartphone responsibly, hence making them especially prone to the negative effects of excessive screen time on smartphones
With smartphone ubiquity among teens, it’s wild to see kids glued to their screens all day, even if they don’t really know how to use them wisely.
