A hypocritical republican who supports their party’s ideals but whines when implemented policies affect their life because they do not think systematically. Basically, a hypocrite whose motto is “crack down on others but let me do my thing.” They believe in lower taxes but then bitch when the schools are underfunded and roads are crumbling; they think the government is too powerful yet complain it doesn’t have a heavy enough hand (eg not enough cops, poor infrastructure, military isn’t strong enough); they support the war on drugs but drive drunk and use illegal drugs; they believe in the same price for the same service yet complain it’s unfair to poor people.

Examples include: coal miners in WV who believe in free market capitalism yet want subsidies for coal, corn farmers in the Midwest who vote against government benefits/subsidies yet live on the corn subsidy, community college students who believe in fewer subsidies yet attend state-sponsored education, business owners who want lower school budgets yet complain how their employees aren’t educated well, California farmers who want more immigration enforcement but lose half their workforce to ICE, pious churchgoers who support a morally bankrupt president, low income earners who cry for tax cuts yet lose necessary services when it happens, capitalist investors who complain trading fees should be lower for people who have less money.
The Confusatives will always vote for a tiny tax break for themselves, even if it massively reduces taxes for the wealthy and consequently hurts their schools and roads.
"Did you hear about that Trump supporter who got deported as a result of Trump's new policy? It doesn't get more Confusative than that."
Confusatives and NIMBYcrats are wonderfully short-sighted; it's so easy to manipulate them.

Overly technical, nerdy, and left-brained. Lacking warmth, charisma, empathy, and general social skills; slightly awkward while at times being uncomfortably pushy or passive aggressive.
We invite the non-technical employees to happy hour so things don't get too engineery.

Keep in mind this article will be read by all sorts of people so don't make it too engineery.

A guy who is humble, down-to-earth, open and honest, easy to get along with, and generally well-versed about all the usual things people do. Someone who isn't power-hungry, arrogant, super competitive, insecure, or egotistical. A guy you'd want to have a conversation with about things like sports, fishing, camping, hard work, relationships, home repair, music, cars, movies, power tools, etc. A guy who will never embarrass you or cause problems socially and has nothing to prove.
Rodney Dangerfield's character in Caddyshack is rich and wild and probably hasn't picked up a drill in years, but he's still a regular guy. Same with Jackie Mason's character in Caddyshack 2!

You can talk to John about anything, he's a regular guy and won't judge you or talk shit.

Call John when we go shoot off fireworks--he'll love it, he's a regular guy like us!

A hypocritical democrat who supports their party’s ideals but pushes back when implemented policies affect their life because they do not think systematically. Basically, a hypocrite whose motto is “make others empathize and share, but don’t touch my bubble.” They believe solar should be mandatory yet refuse to install it on their property; they believe that schools should be integrated but push back when their child’s school has poor/urban people in it; they want taxes for the rich to be higher but only on people richer than themselves; they believe in social equality yet live in a gated community; they support public housing but fight against development in their community.

Examples include: Cape Cod residents who support renewable energy but fought tooth and nail to prevent windmills off the coast, men who support gender equality but generally deride female leaders, professionals who support higher upper-end tax rates then rail about how high their taxes are when their salary increases, white suburbanites who preach about racial equality yet cross the street when they see a black person, educated rich liberals who believe in social class integration yet only have educated rich friends, California homeowners who promote affordable housing but refuse to allow any construction in their neighborhood.
The NIMBYcrats refuse to find a good solution to affordable housing because they all refuse to allow it in their neighborhoods.
The major difference between NIMBYcrats and champagne socialists is the former legitimately believes what they preach then complain against it, whereas the champagne socialists are just putting on a show and don't actually believe in wealth distribution.
NIMBYcrats and Confusatives are an unfortunately large and stupid voter base for their parties.
