The coming together of two or more people that suffer from debilitating awkwardness in social situations. Usually these people have to keep conversations going with each other for a period of time to be considered an awkplosion.

That other night Anne and Mel had a complete awkplosion for like an hour at Pedro’s bar mitzvah.
