Napstablook

Noun

1. The act of lying down on the floor, usually while staring straight up at the ceiling, and while being sufficiently high on one or more drugs.
2. The act of passing out onto the floor while being high out of one’s mind, usually caused by being too high or sedated to find a bed/couch, or due to an overwhelming urge to rest physically.
3. A spontaneous or intentional nap taken on the floor, with an emphasis on staring at the ceiling, sometimes as part of a drug-induced experience.

Origin:

Derived from the character Napstablook from Toby Fox’s Undertale, whom is a ghost that is psychonaut coded and known for his iconic feat of “lying down and feeling like garbage.” First known usage is 2021, where a poster within the r/drugs discord posted “fuck it, I am pulling a napstablook now.” Before posting a selfie of themselves lying on the floor with highly constricted pupils inside the server’s opiates channel, sparking the meme and solidifying its place within the psychonaut lexicon. This word can also be used outside of the common psychonaut lexicon, but it is tied to the psychonaut community, for the most part.
Person A: Agh, fuck! Why does my head hurt so bad?

Person B: Dude, you pulled a napstablook last night while you were tripping on some DPH. Person A: It usually doesn’t hurt that much though…

Person B: You fell down while standing up, that’s why it hurt.

Person A: oh shit…

Pomni

Noun

1. The act of becoming so unfathomably hammered on psychoactive substances and/or alcohol that you lose the ability to physically leave the location of the high in question.
2. A high which is so intense and powerful that you can not leave the location in which you have become intoxicated, whether because of physical or mental reasons that prevent you from doing so.

Origin:

A tongue-in-cheek reference to the character Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus, whom gets frequently broken up over trying to find a non-existent exit to the digital realm. The term was coined within December of 2023, when a digital circus fan remarked “I’m gonna get so high tonight that you can call me Pomni, because I’ll be unable to find the exit to go for a smoke xD.” IT was then that the term was adopted for its sardonic value, and also because the setting of The Amazing Digital Circus itself is often likened to an acid trip.
Person A: “Is it okay if I have another tab of acid with that coke?”
Person B: “Umm… Don’t you still need to get home tonight?”
Person A: “Hell nah. I don’t have work tomorrow, so I was thinking of pulling a Pomni tonight.”
Person B: “Fine with me, just don’t fuck up my place if you have a bad trip.”
Person A: “Don’t worry, we good on that front.”
