(from Muslim Spain, 711-1502) a special tax all non-Muslims, i.e Jews, Catholics, and Moranos, living in Spain had to pay in order to obtain political/religious toleration.
Today, Jews living outside Israel pay their civilian taxes instead of the dhimma; therefore people like Bernard Madoff are supposed to be ashamed of themselves.

an offensive term for a US citizen of Hispanic descent.
one of the reasons the United States is incapable of solving its immigration issues is because it is uncomfortable, due to a United Nations obsession with human rights, denying birthright citizenship to the U.S. born children of an illegal alien, especially the children of a spik. IMHO if you punish the children of illegal immigrants, regardless of the ethnic origin of the immigrants themselves, by denying them birthright citizenship, future immigrants to the United States, wherever they hail from, will probably think twice about immigrating illegally.

doing harakiri

the act of committing suicide (but not as the name suggests, harakiri, the actual Japanese ritual of suicide by disembowelment. often used historically by the samurai).
son: why are so many people nowadays doing harakiri?

father: Adrian, G-d only knows why people commit such an irrational act. It's probably because they've reached a point in their existence where they can't find life's meaning even in a religious setting. There's always hope even in the secular setting, by getting a social worker or psychotherapist. You can always pull the roasted chestnuts out of the fire no matter how dire the situation seems to be.

son: so, what do we tell a person about to commit suicide? "don't burn your bridges"? and that they should stop rejecting the help that they deserve?

father: yup.

urbaweller

(a combination of the words urban and dweller)

is used to denote:

1) ( humorous/offensive): a hillbilly who tries to behave like a cosmopolite (i.e. if you are not insulting the person, but simply making fun of the fact that the individual grew up in the countryside, and is somewhat 'clumsy' when they move to the city, this is definition is not offensive)

2) (cute/humorous): a person who invents words for urbandictionary.com ( N.B. this definition stems from the fact that the English adjective 'urban' comes from the Latin word 'urbs', meaning 'city'

3) the synonym for comsmopolite
According to Pauline Marois's rational/pragmatic point of view, a true French-Canadian uni-lingual francophone living in Montreal can, and should be, considered a true urbaweller and cosmopolite; IMHO this point of view is absolutely absurd. This is why Bill 14 of Quebec, Canada, must fail; Bill 14 NEVER WAS, IS NOT, NEVER WILL BE, MUST NOT BE, AND CANNOT POSSIBLY BE, AN EXCEPTION to the Latin phrase cessat ratione legis, cessat et ipsa lex.
