urbaweller

urbaweller

(a combination of the words urban and dweller)

is used to denote:

1) ( humorous/offensive): a hillbilly who tries to behave like a cosmopolite (i.e .simply making fun of the fact that the individual grew up in the countryside, and is somewhat 'clumsy' when they move to the city, is not offensive by this definition)

2) (cute/humorous): a person who invents words for urbandictionary.com ( N.B. this definition stems from the fact that the English adjective 'urban' comes from the Latin word 'urbs', meaning 'city'

3) the synonym for comsmopolite
According to Pauline Marois's rational/pragmatic point of view, a true French-Canadian uni-lingual francophone living in Montreal can, and should be, considered a true urbaweller and cosmopolite; IMHO this point of view is absolutely absurd. This is why Bill 14 of Quebec, Canada, must fail; Bill 14 NEVER WAS, IS NOT, NEVER WILL BE, and therefore CANNOT POSSIBLY BE, AN EXCEPTION to the Latin phrase cessat ratione legis, cessat et ipsa lex.

grab life by the horns

(motto of the Ford F-150 commercial): one of the possible English transliterations of the Latin phrase carpe diem
If you take the phrase 'grab life by the horns' out it's context commercial, it becomes one of the possible English translations of the Latin phrase carpe diem.
1) (politically incorrect after Arizona Bill S-1070) synonym for extraterrestrial. 2) (from the Latin alienus, meaning stranger): simply, with no political connotations attached, a 'stranger'. 3) an offensive term for an illegal immigrant to the United States.
the Latin term 'alienus', meaning 'stranger' in English, didn't only give us the noun 'alien' but also the verb 'to alienate', and the adjective' alienated' (usually followed by from)

go eat rocks

(offensive) what you say to someone who is not only very politically opinionated, and not afraid to speak their mind when it comes to politics, but also arrogantly proud of being politically incorrect as well.
son: (starts waving US Confederate flag around the room): I think we should impeach President Barak Obama; he is not doing anything meaningful concerning illegal immigration. I think we should elect either John McCain or Joe Arpaio.

father: are you nuts? since when re you so politically opinionated? I think it's your mother's upbringing. she's the one whose supposed to be politically opinionated, not you. Now, as your father, i am ordering you to either kiss the Don's ring or die. I am ordering you to stop waving that US Confederate flag, to go eat rocks, and then off to your room to do your homework Got that?

son: yes, dad. but i am entitled to my political opinion, even if I am politically incorrect
an offensive Quebec French acronym for sans-genie qui sait rien, a phrase meaning know-nothing retard in English.
son: yoo-hoo you SGQSR, what the hella re you doing fiddling with those pipes in the basement?

father: young man, improve your vocabulary, and talk to me comme du monde. you can even shut up and doff me a hat; I am after all your father, and FYI, im not fiddling with those pipes, im fixing the bloody plumbing.
