The act of creating a
PC game which contains console
game design concepts or gameplay offering more instant gratification. These design concepts include, but are not limited to the following:
-Unlockables
-Less customization features
-Very little control for multiplayer hosts
Consolization can often be a result of porting a console
game to PC and may often be accompanied by sloppy optimization and widespread technical issues of all kinds.
It may also less literally
mean "cheapened" or "simplified" and can, as such, sometimes be applied even to certain console games.
