Triangling

Share definition Flag
Triangling, noun
1. Gossip; talking about someone else in a negative light when they are not present.
2. Pitting others against someone to advance your own objective.
3. Devisive.
Tom was triangling the staff and positioning them against each other.

This is a term used when one person talks about a person when the other person is not present.

A graceful way to respond to someone who does this with you is to ask them, “have you talked with ……about this?”

Or to state something positive about the person being talked about and shifting the conversation to another topic. Gracious character can be trusted and when you stand up for others walk in integrity.

Getting Sekelied

Share definition Flag
To drink ones self into oblivion on Friday and continue the process until class on Monday. While getting Sekelied, one does not worry about personal hygiene, attractiveness of sexual partner, the sex of said partner, or even the age of said partner; basically life in general outside of their room and fridge. To be truly Sekelied, generally one must consume nothing but 3 to 4 cases of beer during the weekend. Food is not important.
Bill broke up with his girlfriend this weekend. The only thing that took the pain away was getting Sekelied.

Probabilistic Mechanics

Share definition Flag
The branch of physics that deals with objects that aren't guaranteed to move when force is applied, but merely exist in a state of potential motion until observed. It's the science of why your dropped toast always lands butter-side down, why the bus you're waiting for has a 90% chance of arriving only after you light a cigarette, and why the line you choose at the grocery store will, with statistical certainty, be the slowest. It's less about Newton's laws and more about Murphy's Law, quantified.
Example: "I studied probabilistic mechanics for years just to understand my life. According to my calculations, the moment I hit 'send' on an angry email, there was a 97.3% chance the recipient would walk into my office before I could delete it. I was right."
