A car worthy of being called and not just a little piece of shit that was wound up at the fact 7-8 million times before being released into the American Market.

A type of high-performance vehicle.
Contrary to popular belief, the first muscle car was not the Pontiac GTO, but the Chevrolet Impala SS 409, introduced in 1962. The GTO, however, started the muscle car revolution upon its launch in 1964. Most muscle cars were simply spiced-up versions of other, more ordinary models. Most muscle cars were mid-sized. The Ford Mustang introduced a more compact-sized type of muscle car called the pony car, or "pocket msucle car."
The muscle car era ended in the 70s due to increased safety standards(goddamned Ralph Nader!), increased emission standards(goddamned EPA!), and the 1973-1974 Middle East oil embargo(goddamned Arabs!). The Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am pony cars survived, albeit in a watered-down state.
In the 1980s, muscle cars began making a comeback that continues to this day.
The Pontiac Tempest was an ordinary car, but installing a high-performance engine made it a muscle car.

The best cars in history. Started in the greatest city ever, Detroit. When put against pussies like british, german or any other european cars, the muscle car will beat the shit out of it. V-8, CID, Detroit Muscle, bitch. V-12's with cylinders the size of quarters? NO!
Gumba Gumba is a douchebag, retard because he doesn't know shit about real cars, muscle cars.

Again, Gumba Gumba is a douche because he said that "the chassis will typically crumple in any accident" Uh, not really jackass, it's called steel, which is something called strong.

My T/A can tear the shit out of that fag's gay BMW.

I remember the good ol days when if someone wasn't driving a muscle car, you'd shoot them.

A car built between 1960 and 1980, usually has a large 6 cylinder engine (179 - 250ci) or a small V8 (308ci - 350ci) or a large V8 (396ci - 454ci)
Usually isn't fuel injected, the hot 6's usually have triple carburettors, the V8's one or two. Me being from Australia might have a different view to people from the USA but we still love our muscle cars. Will always win in an accident, I had an accident in my Torana, got the 350 Chev in it fixed and she was good again. None of this plastic S**t you get today with the crappy turbos, my Torana makes 300hp stock without turbo's, a Skyline makes 320hp with 2 turbos to make up for its crappy displacement.
And they still can't beat me!
In Australia, a muscle car is a Holden Torana 1971 - 1979, which came in 2 door until 1975 then became 4 door or 2 door hatch. Engines were a 186ci or 202ci Holden 6, 253ci Holden V8, 308ci Holden V8 or 350ci Chev V8 (V8's after 1975, not before) There are many more but I would state my favourite.
In America, a Chevrolet Camaro 1969 - 1972, a Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi (a beauty of a car), a Plymouth Barracuda.

A muscle car is any vehicle, typically from the 1940s-1970s that follows one basic formula: a mid-sized or compact car with a larger motor than nessicary to motivate the car. There are many misconceptions about the muscle car, very typically seen in this day and age. among them:
-muscle cars are not, in fact, only from the narrow period between approximatly 1965-1971.
-the typical muscle car was made for no other purpose than going very fast in a straight line. short of spending a fortune in upgrades, a muscle car will NOT pull .8 G's on the skidpad, put down any notable numbers on the slalom or figure 8, or achieve anything but a fast ET.
-assuming muscle cars can easily romp so-called "import cars". in 9 out of 10 cases, a muscle car will easily be outdone by all tests by a new car except possibly the quarter mile. This is NOT because the muscle cars are slow, inefficent, or any other nonsense. the simple fact is, these cars are fossils, some over 40 years old. technology has made many leaps and bounds in those last 40 years, so it would be shameful if a new car could not beat a muscle car.
-All in all, muscle cars are very cool cars, that in my personal opinion, look better than many of the new cars today. the mythos surrounding them today does nothing more than slander them, and even further skyrocket thier price, which is CERTAINLY not nessicary. so please people, only view them for what they are: cool, old, quarter mile stormers.
poor little uninformed person #1: YO MAN, MY '70 CHEVELLE WITH A HYDRA-MATIC AND A 350 WILL KICK THAT STI's ASS!!!
friend: dont embarress yourself man. even with a top-of-the-line muscle car, such as a 427 cobra jet mustang with a 4 speed, youd still get thrashed. hes got almost 40 years of high tech on you. just be content that your car looks a hell of a lot better than his little anonymous little box, no matter how many LEDs or plastic bits he puts on it.

a car with a large engine(350 ci+) made of steel not plastic, puts out more horse power and TORQUE then 6 ricers, wat these's tools in the 2 liter rice rockets dont understand is that us muscle car owners can go fast while towing a boat, u ricers cant actually take off with more then 2 people in the car. ill accept some ricers may go fast, but thats when there moddified with more money then the car is worth, a muscle car will go just as fast stock with 5 people in the car towing a boat, so to all u ricers bagging muscle cars, mayb u should try racing under weight, oh thats right, UR PEICE OF SHIT ENGINE WONT MOVE A BAG OF CEMENT
theres no replacement for displacement ricer boys GET A MUSCLE CAR!
