One part of a murmur. Murmurs are not limited to two parts, not so obviously. Stated alone, it basically calls for a sympathetic repetition of the word by the speakers audience, creating a murmur of whatever the appropriately situational gestalt may be; approval, discontent, whatever attitude was conveyed by the tone of the original utterance.
