Nonsense word used in replacement for any technical word you don't know.

Frammis 

One of those small technical items that has no known function as far as you are concerned (due to vast technical ignorance), but seems to be required. Very similar to a frogputter, but simpler.

frammis rod 

A suspension component used on heavy-duty vehicles to control the motion of the outer hub receiver casing. Frammis rods will have either a bearing or a bushing at each end. Movement of the outer hub receiver casing must be limited to 720 degrees in both the vertical and horizontal planes. Frammis rods are available in every color except teal.

A bent left rear frammis rod will cause ancillary oversteer and reduce driveshaft and road wheel longevity.

A nonsense word invented by a radio comedian of the 1940s, meaning a (usually technical) part of some machine or device that he didn't really understand or know the proper name for.
