Annoying adolescents and/or teenagers who insist they are "depressed" but in reality, just want attention. They usually tend to listen to music that involves skinny guys whining and "screaming" about things that supposedly have deep meaning. The drummers of these bands often try to look cool by using a double bass pedle (stop kidding yourselves, you suck). They tend to make fun of any other genre of rock music and only like bands (especially underground ones) until they become popular. Once they're popular "they suck".
They can't admit that they bought an article of clothing in hot topic b/c that would make them a "poseur". <Newsflash: you're a poseur if you shop there and THEN do not admit that you do.>
They also mosh like pussies. If you're going to go into a pit, fucking stop swinging and actually mosh or else you WILL get knocked the fuck down.
Simply put, they just need to stop crying and actually try to see all the great things that they DO have in their lives, instead of whining about that girl who dumped them in 7th grade.

All the little emo kids I hang out w/ are so annoying. All I ever hear them talk about is how great a new band is that no one has ever heard of.. by next week everyone will know all of that band's songs by heart and then no one will like them a week after that.

Just another person in the world, Normaly can see the world for what it really is. Sometimes likes to listen to music with more meaning then most other music types. Does not like to be noticed or care what you think. Can't stand the wanna-be emo kids who focus on how they look.

alrightly, im sick of people saying emo kids are bi-sexual and whiney. Most are just misunderstood. We wear what we want to wear no matter what. Emos just like to be themselves and they are always pushed down because of it. Not all emos cut themselves either. Granted some do but, if thats what they need to do to make them feel better inside then so be it. Everyone looks down of the little emo kid who slit their wrists but, nobody says anything to anorexic preps or slutty whores because they are popular.

a kid who listens to really good music wears wat ever he or she feels like is very intune with their emotions likes to write poetry. emo kids can be drugies or straight edge
people only talk trash about emo becauz either they dont fully undersand the genre or they see stupid ppl saying there emo cauz its a fad. emo kids do not always cry and arent all ways deppresed and do not cut them selfs 24/7.im and emo kid my self and i live a pritty nomal life the only reason im differant is becauz i dont like popularity im intune with my emotions and im artistic(though so are most ppl so that one doesnt count). i listen to underground and mainstream music as long as its good music. i listen to many forms of rock including emo, hardcore,punk,and metal. although some emo kids may be prity well off that doesnt mean they dont have feelings. u dont have to be poor and have abusive parents to be depressed i hope this has taught all u loosers out there that emo is not just a stupid fad run by preps.

we don't all want to committ suicide, or write poetry, or wear black rimmed glasses.. and we don't all cut ourselves.. where the hell you people got that idea from we'll never know..

Emo Kid: it's not about the clothes you wear, or how you act...it also has nothing to do w/ self-harm...(that's only from what the lyrics of "emo" bands say...but there is no real connection)...and ya some emos wear dark clothes...but it's mostly just becuz they might not care about how they look...or they want to look "scary" so others don't come up and talk to him/her. emo is a type of music NOT A TYPE OF PERSON... so stop labeling ppl!!! and if it is a type of person then they wouldn't care to make themselves fit this label..

There are alot of definition to Emo kid.
heres mine: An Emo is someone who can feel the world around him/her. These people often live a bit like hermits because they cannot stop the flux of emotions and thoughts running trough their heads(well thats kinda me)
So we prefer being alone than seeing everyone around us suffer as much as we do.
