So, a ''frumpy dyke'' is ''a lesbian with lack of concern for appearance, from clothes to body shape''.

Many people confuse the word dyke and lesbo. Lesbos can be hot, dykes can’t. Dykes are always seen to have short hair and also an intention of having sex with no dick.

When a female, lesbian or not, has extremely short hair (usually a crew cut) and spikes it up. To be a true dyke spyke, it should be easy to mistake them from the back as a guy.
