The actions of a leader who manipulates his or her underlings by angering, impassioning, or scaring them, usually with false claims or wild speculation. This is done to strengthen the leader's power, and/or to further a political agenda.
Some asshole shot somebody at a park today and anti-gun demagoguery is already pouring in from liberal politicians.

Uses the blind, patriotic support of the people to institute a corrupt and oppressive government.

Trying to proove a point of the opposite of what is truth, when you do that on purpouse and you actaully know the truth.
Soviet Russia is the best example of demogogy in the world. They said: "Oh, we did not ocupy those countries, they wanted to join and they actually asked us to drive all those tanks and army inside their terrotory. They willingly allowed us to take over their government and replace it with the soviet one."
When soviets, we and the rest of the world very well knew how it went and what happend.
