A term used to describe a platonic friend situation which the female misconstrues as romantic.

Katie had a crush on Kip and when he came over one night to eat cereal after the bar, she thought it was a date. She told her friends they went on "cereal dates".

Rob told Earl that a girl was stalking him; Earl told Rob that they probably went on a cereal date.
