Sylvia Plath Effect

From Kaufman (2001; Kaufman & Baer, 2002), a psychologist -- the Sylvia Plath Effect is the finding that female poets are more likely to commit suicide than any other kind of writer (male or female).
Perhaps one cause of the Sylvia Plath effect is that creative writing gatekeepers such as editors or teachers may unconsciously expect a quality poem written by a woman to be heartfelt and moving without holding similar expectations for a poem written by a man.

Sylvia-Plath-it

Used when someone has had a bad day, to describe the severity of that bad day.

To have had such a shit-ass day they you could kill yourself. Specifically by means of putting your head in a gas oven.
My boy friend has been cheating on me for the past month, I am ready to Sylvia-Plath-it.

Shackteâu

A Shackteau is a humble, weather-beaten, structurally questionable shelter located in a spectacular or highly coveted place—Wales, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Crested Butte, coastal Maine, the Alps—where the building itself may be worth almost nothing, but the dirt, view, access, and mythology make it absurdly valuable.
In use:
Shackteâu - We thought it was an abandoned shed until the realtor called it a rare alpine Shackteâu with unobstructed views and listed it for $2 million.
