an app/website that forces you to pay for a membership/subscription in order to do basic tasks or even use it at all

Guy 1: Aww man, this website is now forcing me to pay to do something I used to be able to do before for free!
Guy 2: That's why I tend to avoid Subscription Monsters, Just use this alternative instead.
