SHELFITIS

Shelfitis is the act of looking at or for something but not seeing it. It's when your spouse or child says: "I can't find the peanut butter (or salt or ... any item). Then you look and the peanut butter (or anything else) is in relatively plain sight on the shelf or in the closet. SHELFITIS- you look but do not see!!
Rick and Sam suffered from shelfitis when they looked for the potato chips in the pantry because even though the bag of chips was right there on the shelf they didn't see it and asked mom to find it which, of course, she did.
