Similar to a Non-Player-Character, a Matrix Agent is a person or persons who seem or act as though 'programmed' to respond or behave in scripted ways. Unlike an NPC, the Matrix Agent connotation implies some cognizant understanding of their simulated world, while nonetheless believing in that world and following their programming within it.

A hot crazy woman who often sleeps in her next day clothes so as soon as she wakes up, she can get out the door. Usually she forgets something like her purse or to comb her hair. Usually wearing black, or stripes and a long coat that doubles as a blanket.

Only being able to repeat opinions and viewpoints which are fed to someone through television, news or school. Rather than having actual opinions and viewpoints from independent and/or critical thought.
