Hippie Chick

Hippie culture climaxed in 1960's American pop culture, although it maintains a strong base to this day, particularly at Phish and Widespread Panic shows and any event featuring the remaining members of the Grateful Dead. Hippie chicks can be identified by patchwork and extra-feminine clothing like long full skirts and shirts meant to be worn without a bra. Some of the more gypsy hippie chicks wear lots of jewelry and glittery make-up. Some of the more wookie hippie chicks wear dreads, no make-up (cause it's tested on animals) and may not shave (no one knows why). The roots of the culture lie in the "make love, not war" political movement, and hippie chicks may be politically liberal. Things like organic goods, recycling/reducing/reusing and fair trade shopping are common conversation topics for this culture. Having gotten a lot of mean feedback from mainstream society ("Jerry's dead, Phish sucks, get a job"), a hippie chick may be reluctant to be identified by an outsider, especially in the workplace. Lastly, one may or may not smoke weed, but the truth is that's the root of this culture.

hippiechic swag

Millennials who come from wealthy families, but dress like bums, wear braids or dreadlocks and live in ways that would make you think they are poor. On closer inspection, the clothes they wear are designer goods made to look old, they get their hair done at expensive salons and live in high-end neighborhoods.
They seem to wander through their 20s and 30s without a care, but that's because they are rich and don't have to work. bohemian, rich kids, rich, millennials, spoiled, hippies, hipsters, the 1%, swag, designer clothes, fashion, Polo, Louis Vuitton, Chanel
I get so tired of these super rich millennials parading around in their hippiechic swag protesting the 1% when mom and dad are the 1%.

"Hey, do you know that girl Sally?"

"Yeah, she's kind of annoying. All she ever talks about it ballet."

"Wow, what a Bunhead."

"Hey Sally, you want to hang out this weekend?"
"I can't, I have dance."
"You're such a Bunhead."

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
