1) The best televised sci-fi series ever
2) The little space western that was
3) A class of transport vessel that Captain Mal has retrofitted a wee bit
4) A program that, like its namesake, flared out in the darkness for too short a time only to be squashed by forces that care nothing for beauty

Firefly was a great Sci-Fi TV show which lasted about 1 season before the goons at FOX saw that it was good and killed it. Apparently, they showed all the episodes in the wrong order at a crap time. Firefly was described as a 'western in space' (which was a bit misleading) and was created Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Apparently there's a DVD coming out with all the episodes on, hurray.
"Firefly was a unique show which the bastards at FOX decided was too good just like Futurama and Family Guy and just had to get rid of it. Bastards."

1. An insect.
2. A tv space-western-comedy-drama created by Joss Whedon, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, and hosted by FOX. It was aired in the wrong order and thus dreadfully passed over. After one season it was canceled. All episodes are currently out on DVD (or Kazaa/Bittorrent....) and due to a dedicated fanbase a movie is scheduled for 2005

The best damn show in the verse, if tv didn't exist they would have had to invent just to show firefly. But likw all good things it got cancelled way, way, way before it's time by the evil fox bastards

Geek 1: Firefly is amazing. It's got an excellant storyline, interesting characters and good action... too bad it got taken off.
Geek 2: I know.

(Queer terminology, noun) A term used to describe a woman (inclusive) who comes out as Queer while in a hetero-facing long-term partnership/marriage. Symbolic of spending a lot of life “underground”, going through a metamorphosis, and then emerging as the truest and most authentic self that glows in the dark and brings joy to others. Alternative to “late blooming lesbian”/“late bloomer”/“late in life lesbian,” but intended to be more inclusive of gender identities/expressions and sexuality representations.
“...Oh yeah, she’s a firefly, she left her marriage a few years ago and came out. Now she’s living her big Queer life and is happier than ever!”
