Grammar Gestapo

Noun; someone who pays astute attentive to grammar when writing or speaking. Grammar gestapo also place significant emphasis on parallel structure, word choice, use of imagery and figurative language in their writing.

My college essay tutor is a true grammar expert, and we jokingly refer to her as the grammar gestapo.

GradAPH

"GradAPH" is an acronym for "Graduate Member of the Academy of Public Health". This is the postnominal letters awarded to the graduate membership rank of the Academy of Public Health (APH), the membership arm of the West African Institute of Public Health (WAIPH).

Twenty entry-level young professionals were awarded the rank of Graduate Membership of the Academy of Public Health (GradAPH) which permits them to use "GradAPH" as postnominal letters with their names.

Someone that is insecure and troll's people online looking to correct them .So they feel competent and not like failures

A term used to describe a person who believes in and advocates for an egalitarian approach to language use. They view language primarily as a means of expressing meaning and facilitating communication, rather than as a status symbol or a tool for exclusion. A Grammar Commie stresses the importance of comprehensibility over stringent adherence to traditional grammar rules, and supports the validity of diverse linguistic styles and dialects, thus breaking the barriers of linguistic elitism and fostering inclusivity.

A term describing an individual who exhibits both knowledge and empathy in relation to language use. Instead of criticizing others' grammatical errors, a Grammar Swami gently and privately guides them towards more standard language practices. Their approach is focused on uplifting and educating without causing embarrassment or belittlement, emphasizing respect for each individual's unique linguistic journey and encouraging growth in a supportive, non-judgmental manner.

I met a Grammar Swami who patiently and kindly showed me how to use language better, guiding me towards improvement without making me feel embarrassed or small.

A term used to describe individuals who enthusiastically celebrate and amplify correct grammar usage on social media platforms. They often highlight and commend well-constructed sentences, appropriate punctuation, and the correct use of language rules. Their aim is not to belittle those who make mistakes, but rather to raise awareness of good grammar usage and to foster appreciation for effective written communication in the digital sphere.

Grammar Paparazzi are people online who get really happy when others use good grammar, and they want to help everyone learn more about writing well on the internet without making fun of mistakes.
