a prhase used to remove offensiveness from a statement, similar to i'm just sayin'. this phenomenon was first explained and used by comedian Dom Irrera.
Let me tell you something ok? Your sister is a bit of a slut - now I don't mean that in a bad way - but she gets around if you know what I mean.

When added to the end of a sentence makes the reader/listener look for a second meaning.
Also used to provoke confusion when there is no second meaning.

You can add "if you know what i mean" to the end of the sentence to make the reader look for a second meaning, if you know what i mean.
