gamer's grind

Noun. When you're on a really hard part in a video game and you keep trying and trying, but you keep on losing. Gets you very frustrated and makes you want to throw the controller through the TV. A common gamer's grind goes as follows:

1) Discovery of level/task
2) Several attempts and failures of task
3) Frustration
4) Attempts to do task through frustration
5) More frustration

This can end in two ways:

6) Random luck
7) Victory

or:

6) Take a break and come back later
7) Victory

Gamer 1: Man, I was so pissed last night, I had terrible gamer's grind when facing The Boss on Metal Gear Solid 3.

Gamer 2: Yeah, I know what you mean.

Gamber

Gamber is the embodyment of the county. It is mostly farm land, has one elementry school, one fire station, no post office, and two convienience stores with attached gas stations. Most people on there way from the outskirts of Westminster to work in Baltimore don't even notice it on their way in. They only know it by the green town sign on th side of Rt. 32. If you ask them where it is they will somwhere near Rt. 91 and Rt. 32. The kids of this small town have nothing much to do so they have parties in the feilds and barn of the old farm house on Klee Mill Rd. After high school many move on to college or jail or the job force. The college bound ones usualy go to schools in the mountains or ones that are in the middle of nowhere and nobody knows about, just like there home town.

John: hey Jeff what u want to do?
Jeff: i dont know you?
John: i dont know.
Jeff: hey, want to raid my dads booze cabinet?

gamer

A person who frequently (usually at least once per week) plays video games.

If the person in question only ever plays one video game, that does not make him/her a gamer.

The word 'gamer' is vague, because it could refer to people who play games as a sport or for a living. These are simply subdefinitions that may be applicable to certain people.

''Nate's been playing Fallout 4 for months now, probably every day. He even got to level 100. Somehow, he's still got time to play other games too.''

- ''Seriously? I didn't even know he's a gamer. Maybe we should hang out sometime.''

gamer punk

A gamer punk is a person who generally plays video games, but has a punk attitude or clothing style. Gamer punks normally are the more popular of the gamer stereotype, not being very nerdy. You could find a group of them hanging out at an arcade or a gaming center, wearing punk clothes.

Person 1 "Hey, look at that gamer punk over there."

Person 2 "Is he playing World of Warcraft?"

Person 1 "Yeah, hey, he has a lot of piercings. He's wearing a Ramones t-shirt too."
