A gift treaty is an agreement that you make with your friends, family members, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband or wife that declares you will not exchange gifts on holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

"Once my brother and I started exchanging gift cards for 50 bucks on holidays we decided it was pointless so we agreed on a gift treaty."

Noun. A person who received a gift from a re-gifter. Usually he/she does not know that the thing given is a re-gift because the gift giver (who originally bought the wretched thing) and the re-giftee are usually not related, or have a needle-in-a-haystack chance of knowing each other (as carefully planned by the scheming re-gifter).
