Ling Ling

A derogatory term for a Thai person (literally meaning Monkey). Especially one lacking independent thought and/or progressive ideas. A Thai person with little education or life experience who is content as long as he/she has the basic necessities of life. A Thai person who has been brainwashed by government institutions to believe that they must foremost serve their country above anything else.

Jirawat is such a Ling Ling! As long as he has enough money for cheap alcohol and street food he wouldn't dare complain.
