Fear Factory

Primarily an American Industrial/Cyber/Death/Thrash metal band.

However, in an interview conducted some time ago, Burton Bell stated that a Fear Factory (paraphrase) is "any institution that manufactures fear".
An example of a fear factory is "any institution that manufactures fear, such as a religious organization or government".

farscape

One of the best shows on tv. Confusing to the simple and dimwitted but great to people who know what good tv is. Great characters, special effects, story. It ended too soon. www.savefarscape.com

Dentist's Office Fear Syndrome

The fear that always creeps into your mind while sitting in the lobby of the dentist's office, even though you know it's just the dentist and you're being stupid and panicking about nothing. Many people try to calm this syndrome by reading one of the magazines or books in the lobby, but usually this just makes things worse.
(In the Dentist's Office)
Bob: (reaches for lobby magazine and starts reading)
Tracy: Gosh Bob, I've never seen someone look so nervous reading a magazine before! What's wrong?
Bob: Uhhhh it's nothing, really.
Tracy: Bob, don't tell me you still have Dentist's Office Fear Syndrome!! I thought you were over that years ago!!
Bob: Ahhh stop it!! I can't control it!!(Breaks out in hysterical crying)

fear

Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will allow my fear to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone I will turn my inner eye to see its path. And where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." (From Frank Herbert's Dune)

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

An groundbreaking novel with the full title - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream. Authored by Hunter S. Thompson, illustrated by Ralph Steadman. The novel first appeared as a two-part series in Rolling Stone magazine in 1971.

Journalist Raoul Duke and attorney Dr. Gonzo travel to Las Vegas in 1971 to cover a motorcycle race for a sports magazine and enjoy a haphazardly planned vacation. The vacation turns highly irresponsible and reckless as the two consume copious amounts of illegal drugs, commit various acts of fraud, and generally wreak mayhem upon the citizens of Las Vegas.

The novel is responsible for introducing an innovative literary style called gonzo journalism, a style of reporting that mixes fiction and factual journalism.

The novel inspired two movies - "Where the Buffalo Roam" (1980) and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (1998).
I read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", and inspired me to visit Circus Circus while on ether.
