The public demonstration of one's nerdiness.

This can be accomplished in various forms: clothing (costumes, game/anime related t-shirts, etc), bringing your favorite console to the university center and challenging onlookers, or simply speaking about things that are obviously meant to be private, such as WoW and what happens in /b/.
Ian: "I saw a guy at school dressed as his World of Warcraft character..."

Michael: "I hate public nerdity..."

Criminals in the 1930s, especially those such as Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the infamous criminal couple also known as Bonnie and Clyde, and John Dillinger, who the public considered particularly dangerous. Both Clyde Barrow and John Dillinger were avid fans of the car manufacturing company Ford and of its proprietor, Henry Ford. Often, a public enemy ran bootleg businesses concerning the sale of alcohol during the Prohibition era of US history, which lasted from the early 1900suntil some years into the Great Depression. He or she was also famous for robberies, shoot-outs, et cetera. The Chicagobootleggerand Mafia criminals Al Capone and his counterpart Bugsy Malone were well-known for their exploits, as were Bonnie and Clyde and John Dillinger.

All of them "died as they had lived... by the gun" or some other form of execution, as one can see on the Wikipedia profiles of Bonnie Parker, who died when she was approximatelt 32 years old, and her counterparts, especially Clyde Barrow and John Dillinger, both of whom died young; Barrow was also approximately 32 years old, and Dillinger was approximately 53 years old.

Many songs and movies have been made about the infamous criminal couple, such as the German song "Bonnie und Clyde" and the early 2000s country song and music video by Travis Tritt, the latter in which actor Billy Bob Thornton played Clyde Barrow. Another such movie is Public Enemy, which will be in theaters on May 21, 2009, starring Johnny Depp as John Dillinger and Christian Bale as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or FBI worker, Melvin Purvis, who must find and bring Dillinger to justicefor his various crimes in their hometown, whatever it takes to do so.

In conclusion, the real-life story on which the movie is based shows that PurvisfoundDillinger with assistance from a friend of Dillinger and his significant other, Katherine, known as Sage. The movie...we will have to see what happens. Thank you for reading this discourse on the historical meaning of public enemy, and have a wonderful day.
Let me just say Christian Bale and Johnny Depp have sparked my great interest in the 1930s and the " 'public enemy' era", as Wkipedia called the 1930s.
