Derech is a hebrew word meanig "path." If you take someone off the derech, it refers to hooking up with a Shomar Negiah person (Jewish concept where you wait until marriage to touch the opposite sex).

I just madeout with Eitan, but he was Shomar Negiah! God is going to be so mad-- I took someone off the derech!
