A gas station that is on a highway, where there is no other gas station in the area; the prices are much higher than a common gas station, so you would have to be desperate and low on gas to even consider getting gas from there.

A)Wow, did you see that gas station? The gas was $7.00/gal.

B)Yea, it was just a desperation station, because the next gas station is 30 miles away.

“Me gusta el desmadre” /“I like ‘El Desmadre’” ~speaking to someone about your love for the party life

“¡Puro desmadre!”/“Nothing but desmadre!” ~exclamation used when already partying and getting more hyped

“Eres un desmadre”/ “You are mess!”~ Can be used in between friends in a teasing manner

The name for dictators in small countries that think they are more important than they are. The term comes from how children play soldier by putting a kitchen pot on their heads to make people think they are real soldiers. Tinpot despots have a lot less influence in the world than they think they do. They often use military forve to get what they want.

Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe and Muammar al-Gaddafi of Libya are considered tinpot despots. Sudan, Eritrea, Chad, and Equatorial Guinea also have tinpot despots as leaders as well.
