Emo is not all about people hating their lives & using razorblades to cut their wrists. That's a stereotype. Emo is actually a type of music from around the 80's and not all of their songs are about wanting to die or depression. Emo is not a type of person, it is a type of music! People who think that 'emos' are attention whores are wrong. Some may and some may not be but that's not the point. People should stop calling people emo just because they are depressed. Anyone can be depressed.

A person who thinks dark thoughts, has strange emotions,(or in most cases, none) and takes delight in fashioning their hair in a stupid way that covers their eye and cutting themselves.

It's a word that recently seems to have lost all meaning. It is not music. It is not a style of how people dress. It is not people who cut themselves. It is not a watered down style of goth. It is a almost meaningless word like nice. It is a word that was poked, prodded, overused and left to rot.

if all of u think that emo is short for emotional then u r all emo. every one has emotions and get emotioinal. emos are comfortable with showing their emotions unlike the rest of you who are too pussy to show your emotions. GROW THE FUCK UP! so leave us "EMOS" alone. and for thoes of u who think that My Chemical Romance is emo u are greatly mistaken. they are the best band and are great at what they do. so leave them alone. they actually help to save peoples lives.
