Back in the 1940, 1950s, perhaps as early the 1920s, and into the 1960s, a grip was a suitcase, satchel, overnight bag, etc. In a sentence, "Gimme an hour. I'll pack my grip, meet you at Union Station, and we can blow this joint!" Today, some people still use this term to reply to a clothing bag of some sort, but I suppose it could also refer to a book bag, duffle bag, etc.

When masturbating with your off hand, turn your hand around, so that your thumb is facing towards you. This grip is usually foreign to most hence the eastern grip
I wasn’t able to get off last night until I tried eastern grip. It felt so foreign that I splurged almost immediately.

A one or two finger grip of interlocked fingers from two people that is the equivalent of holding hands. Used in summer weather when its too hot to hold hands fully.
Justin and Francisca had to resort to summer grip to express their love and affection as they toured the European cities in the peak of summer, to avoid the slimy feeling of a full hand hold.
