Talk-block

To change the subject at the request of a friend who doesn't want to discuss something uncomfortable in a large social setting. I.e. if someone brings up your friend's boyfriend and they just broke up, or her job and she just got let go, you talk-block and change the subject quickly.

Hey, if someone asks me about work tonight, will you talk-block? I don't want to talk about how I just got fired...

Arter is a combination of the words Writer and Artist. To have Arters-Block is to have no inspiration to create art or write any form of literature.

This is a play on words of the original term Writer's Block, givin git a more universal creative umbrella.

I have been feeling so uninspired, I have a bad case of Arters-Block.
I can't paint, I can't write, must be Arters-Block!

Dev's block

Short for "developer's block", a state of mind where a software developer is trying to design and develop a piece of software for a certain purpose, but is struggling to write the necessary code. This is essentially a technical version of writer's block and artist's block.

Manager: Hi, how's the source code for next project coming along?

Intern, almost crying: I- I don't know! I'm so sorry, I'm stuck on the 413th line! This is nothing like any of my classes!

Software Engineer: hey hey hey, relax. RELAX. It's just a little bit of dev's block. You'll be fine. Just take a little break and come back to it later.
