a.) gentrification, b.) white-washing of local micro/cultures, c.) inflated & unsustainable housing market and prices
*Techies can, and overwhelmingly are, older than 20-something, however those 30yo+ techies oftentimes live outside of San Francisco proper- in the East & South Bays, where housing prices are not /as/ extreme as they are in the city.
/Techie is oftentimes used as a derogatory term. Techies do, actually, use the word to bash other techies who are on the extreme end of the "techie" spectrum./

Some of my friends work in tech and the endless possibilities for opportunity got me thinking- maybe this chapter of my life is when I transition from a 'Hipster' to a 'Techie,' maybe I'm a Techster? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. But, either way, at least I'll never be a Trust Fund Techie..."
